Our Background

Arcon’s origins

Originally known as Arcon Housing Association (Cost Rent) Limited, we have been working, in and around Manchester, since 1972. We dropped ‘Cost Rent’, from our name, in 1975, becoming known as Arcon Housing Association Limited. 

Arcon today

Today we own and manage over 1,300 homes, in and around Manchester. Our homes are a mix of new build and refurbished flats, houses and bungalows. Some market rent, shared ownership properties and a number of supported schemes are all included in our stock. We also act as managing agents for two almshouse schemes, in Chester and Stockport and a housing association scheme, in Manchester.

Our new ambitions for growth and diversification have seen us form new partnerships and alliances, both locally and nationally. We are members of the GM Providers Group. We have also signed up to Placeshapers, a national group of community based housing organisations.
