Tenant Board Member
Become a Board Member
The Board is a group of people who volunteer to direct and control Arcon’s affairs. The job of Board Members is to ensure that Arcon is well run and delivers our company objectives, as set out in Arcon’s business plan. This can include helping to:
- set Arcon’s strategic direction for the future
- decide what and where to build or what improvements be made to our properties
- appointing our Chief Executive
- assessing the performance of our organisation.
Our Board is made up of up to 10 people and we like at least one of these to be a tenant. The Board meets six times a year, at Arcon’s office in Manchester. We provide relevant training plus travel expenses and £1,250 per year, in recognition of time given up to attend meetings.
Amanda Crawley was appointed, as a Tenant Board Member, in 2015. Amanda has lived on our Blackley estate since1991. Over the years, she has been very involved in a range of community activities and initiatives which include helping to set up the local Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
Being on the Board could help you to develop your skills and knowledge, improve your employment chances, increase your confidence and give you the opportunity to meet people.
